This paper explores wetland-based tourism in four Ramsar sites in northern Serbian province Vojvodina, as well as a connection between tourism and nature protection. These regions are of great importance for Vojvodina, especially from the point of view of ecosystem services, because 83.3% of its territory are agricultural areas. Explored Ramsar sites were designated in period from 2004 to 2008 and they have been included in many plans as important areas for tourism development. However, the level of tourism development in these sites is not uniform because it depends on variety of factors such as touristic attractions value, engagement of nature protection managers in tourism development, and level of nature degradation and protection. The main objective of this paper is to determine the interconnection between nature degradation, nature protection and tourism development in selected Ramsar areas of Vojvodina, based on the Internal data of protected area managers,Report on the state of the environment and the scope of tourism development (infrastructure, services, development plans)

The persistence of cultural heritage is significantly linked to environmental conditions and all related factors. The study of climatic characteristics is one of the most important issues in the field of contemporary environmental research. The consequences of climate change as one of the greatest challenges for humankind are very diverse and also include an impact on cultural heritage. This paper provides simultaneously an overview and analysis of some of the current and potential impacts of climate changes on different cultural heritage groups, with the aim to provide a clearer picture of how particular climate change factors affect specific categories of cultural heritage. The solution to some of the current and potential impacts can be found in adaptation and accommodation to climate change

Local community members are considered as one of key stakeholder groups for sustainable tourism development, not only as service providers, but also as an important part of a decision-making process in tourism development. In respect to that, this study was focused on their perceptions of potential tourism activities based on resources that are still not valued for the purpose of tourism. There is a question whether the local community members want to be involved and whether they perceive the industrial heritage as beneficial for the local development. The research was conducted on the example of the industrial heritage in Vojvodina (Autonomous Province in Serbia, former part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire), characterized by its historical, cultural, technical, architectural, and educational values of the industrial heritage of Germans as a national minority. The survey research based on the 44- item SUS TAS scale was conducted on a sample of 300 respondents, between October 2021 and March 2022. The main findings highlight the positive attitudes of the local community members on sustainable development of the industrial heritage, but also their insufficient knowledge of values in terms of German industrial legacy within their local environment. The research results may contribute to experts in the field of tourism and culture for domestic and international tourism development.Članovi lokalne zajednice smatraju se jednim od ključnih skupina dionika za razvoj održivoga turizma, ne samo kao pružatelji usluga, nego i kao važan segment procesa donošenja odluka u razvoju turizma.

Broiler meat quality depends on the interaction of several factors, including genotype, slaughter age/body weight, pre-slaughter handling, and slaughter method. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of slaughter weight on meat yield and quality of broilers. The material consisted of 42 broilers, classified into three groups: lighter (3000 g). The following meat yield parameters were measured: cold carcass weight, breast weight before and after deboning, breast skin and bone weights, thigh weight before and after deboning, thigh skin and bone weights, drumstick weight before and after deboning, and drumstick skin and bone weights. Meat pH (M. pectoralis major) and instrumental colour (breast and drumstick) were measured 24 h post-mortem. Meat quality classes (pale, soft and exudative and normal meat) were determined based on breast muscle L* value. Heavier broilers had higher (P0.05) affected by slaughter weight. In conclusion, production of heavy broilers had a beneficial effect on meat quantity, while the effect of slaughter weight on meat quality was negligible. Ispitivani su sledeći pokazatelji prinosa mesa: masa hladnog trupa, masa grudi pre i posle otkoštavanja, masa kože i kostiju grudi, masa karabataka pre i posle otkoštavanja, masa kože i kostiju karabataka, masa bataka pre i posle otkoštavanja i masa kože i kostiju bataka.

This study was conducted to determine the microbiological status of 390 beef and pork minced meat samples collected over three years from 52 retailers in the territory of Belgrade. The numbers of aerobic colony counts, Escherichia coli, and the presence of Salmonella spp. are prescribed criteria for this group of meat semi‑products. Salmonella spp. was confirmed in one sample of minced beef meat (0.8%), while unsatisfactory E. coli counts were only determined in pork meat samples (2.7%). In 2021, all samples complied with the microbiological criteria for minced meat The highest occurrence of positive samples was observed during the III quarter of 2022 (P=0.04) with a frequency of 9.3%. The level of contamination of minced pork with E. coli bacteria in the same quarter was significantly higher compared to the II quarter of 2022 (627±75 vs. 292±9 cfu/g, P=0.009). Improvement of process hygiene and revision of process control, along with permanent education of food staff on the principles of GMP and GHP, are necessary for maintaining food safety and public health

In this study we present interdisciplinary investigations of the Borkovac reservoir (Vojvodina, Serbia). The limnological characteristics of the reservoir were analysed in the scope of its sustainable use for irrigation, fishing and tourism. This multipurpose water accumulation has been established in 1975 as a part of regional hydrological system of the Fruška Gora mountain region. The main environmental problems recognized in this study were: water regime, intensive sedimentation in the reservoir, enhanced water eutrophycation and toxic cyanobacterial blooms. Observed environmental problems and proposed solutions in the case of the Borkovac accumulation including construction of the sediment precipitator at the Borkovac stream junction to lake, sediment removal, artificial water mixing and oxygenation, phosphorous inactivitation, different kinds of biomanipulations and biomass removal and introduction of ecoremedation methods could also be applied to other artificial water bodies of the Fruška Gora slopes

Anti-Hail Protection-Assessment of Financial Effects on the Territory of Belgrade

    Get PDF
The aim of this work is to assess damage to the City of Belgrade caused by the unfavorable weather condition of hail due to the absence of anti-hail defense of the city, and to argumentatively point out the necessity of introducing new technical-technological systems for preventing the effects of adverse weather conditions. The results are based on the direct correlation-analyses of two real unfavorable weather events and the estimated financial damage caused by these events. The overall calculation also takes into account financial investments (new financial model) necessary to establish two essentially different systems for anti-hail protection. The damage caused by the hail on the territory of the City of Belgrade and the financial investment in anti-hail protection to reduce it are empirically established for the first time. It is shown how the damage could be transformed to profit, as the financial investment in anti-hail protection is lower than the damage that hail can cause

Tamiš river and watereconomy problems of Potamišje in Yugoslavia

Prema tome on pripada centralno-evropskoj varijanti, pluvio-nivalnog režima. The abstract has been processed with OCR optical text recognition technology. In the first part of dissertation there is general characteristics of Tamiš basin and his flow. In Yugoslavia Tamiš river has the all characteristic of the rivers in the plains. The spring of Tamiš river is under top of Semenic in Romania and its mouth of river is near Pančevo. In generally, flow of Tamiš has a shape of semicircle turn to north. Whole length of Tamiš river is 340 km, while in Yugoslavia its length amount 118 km. Tamiš basin in Yugoslavia include parts of middle and south Banat, spreading over 7 geomorphologic entity on the surface area of 1528,5 km2. After investigation of waterlevel regime it could be conclude that Tamiš river has the appearance of high level water in April and May, until the low level water has the appearance in October and September. Toward this, Tamiš river belong to the central-European variant of pluvio-nival regime. The second part is turn to watereconomy characteristic and problems of Potamišje region. Potamišje has the total square area of 1.194,7 km2, with 121.596 habitants (census 1991). There is 20 settlements, from which, only Pančevo has character of town. Important characteristic of Potamišje region is his depopulation character and weak development of economy with domination of agrar. Distinction of Potamišje region is complex regulations in the last 250 years. Regulations were done significant changes on hydrogeography and geographical landscape of Potamišje. Let mention some of: shortened of the Tamiš flow for 79 km, digged out the canal Karašac, built three dams on Tamiš river, and one on Karašac. In this region there are 18 system for drainage, which total square area amount almost 1.000 km2 and 10 system for irrigation with square area of 4.340 ha. The other name for Potamišje can be "fish eldorado". There are 7 fish-pond, and on the other 16 location were planed there build. Potamišje has, relatively, rich tourists potentials, which are not developed. Existing motives are appropriate for developing of nautic, fishing and recreation tourism

Weather conditions and weather forecast on the planets of the solar system based on the behavior of Rossby waves

    No full text
Out of all atmospheric processes on the planets of the Solar System, special attention will be devoted here to leading circulation of planetary or global scales, known as Rossby waves. These waves occur in all rotating fluids that have relative movement to the rotation system. Rossby waves exert dominant influence on so-called global weather. Based on the knowledge of some properties of Rossby waves are made approximate analysis of weather conditions on the planets of the Solar System. Also, these considerations can serve as an introduction to weather forecasting on the planet.
